This time, the Maxim cover girl has a reason to stand up for Justin Thomas amid the ridicule he is facing once again. The PGA Tour golfer has been at the receiving end of several controversies this season, and this is the second time the social star has come to his defense.

Why Paige Spiranac had to defend JT again

At the end of round 2 at Royal Liverpool in England, Justin Thomas had a staggering setback. He finished with 11-over par and a 0% chance of making the cut, dropping his ranks to T137. He had an unfortunate run with 4 bogeys trying to get himself out of a bunker in the front 9. After his disappointing finish, many in the golfing community started calling him overrated.

That’s when the Spiranac came to his rescue. On her personal social handle, Spiranac wrote, “It’s wild to me that people are calling JT overrated because he’s having a bad stretch. He’s won 15 times on tour with 2 major wins. It’s golf…it will eat you alive and drive you crazy. We’ve all been there.”

The social diva shared not many weeks ago that she had a frightful experience during the one time she played professionally. The golfing beauty understands the pressure that pro golfers face on the links. Not to mention, the extremely untimely greenside bunker that waylaid the two-time major champion at Hoylake warrants the excessive strokes.

Spiranac’s fans agreed saying, “Everyone has highs and lows. Character is when you come back from that.” Another fan and blogger supported her argument while calling out to JT haters with the comment, “I haven’t been there. I will need 15+ more wins on the PGA Tour as well as majors to understand.”

Spiranac has defended JT on many occasions

A while ago, Justin Thomas faced a critical backlash from golfing fans when he playfully passed a comment toward US Open winner and friend Wyndham Clark. Spiranac, who has been friends with the maiden winner for years, still came to JT’s rescue, knowing that he meant no harm. She agreed with him that on the links, that is how golfers communicate, especially when they are comrades, and there were no ill intentions.

The 30-year-old golf beauty has also defended Thomas before. Back in 2021, 2-time PGA Championship winner used a slur that went viral. There were even talks of introducing him to the cancel culture. However, the social media connoisseur came to his rescue saying that he shouldn’t be canceled, although what he had said shouldn’t be tolerated either.
