Three-time major winner on Lowry’s outburst
Lowry, who won the 2019 Open, sadly didn’t make the cut at Hoylake. Lowry snapped the club behind his neck out of despair and rage. His aggressive deed created a commotion in the golfing world.
Padraig Harrington, however, gave him some stern advice. He stated that as long as golfers don’t harm the course, he has no issue with them expressing their annoyance. ”As long as it was an athletic break, I have no problem with it,” said the three-time major winner. The Irish golfer shared Harrington’s views on its Twitter account. In it, he said, “Shane didn’t do either of those, so I’ve no problem at all. If you want to break all 14 clubs, fine. As long as you don’t damage the course or interfere.”

But this is not the first time Lowry’s frustration has got a hold of him. Keep on reading.

Lowry has a long history of blowing his fuse
Lowry has previously also displayed disappointment on the field. Lowry shattered a club in rage at the 2015 Irish Open, the 2020 US PGA, and the 2022 CJ Cup.

This year, in March, during the Players Championship, Lowry broke his club in half. On the 15th hole, Lowry made a double bogey owing to his tee shot ricocheting off a tree. This didn’t sit well with the Irishman, who started striking the tree.
