At times, I wish I could drive the ball like him. I often wonder about how much better of a golfer I would be if I could drive the ball like him,” he said.

Although he believes that they both play a similar style of golf but the scientist is better in general. To this, he added, “But I think we play a very similar style of golf. We’re both pretty aggressive, particularly around here…..He’s obviously a great player in his own right, and he’s going to be tough to beat tomorrow.” DeChambeau had an incredible second round as he carded six birdies and one eagle and is currently leading the charge in Mexico.

If he maintains this form in the final round, DeChambeau will be one of the biggest thorns he will have to face in order to claim his first win this season. It’s true that he has 12 professional wins, but the last time he won was back in 2023. Smith claimed two titles during the 2023 season, winning in London and Bedminster.
