Recently, the story of a famous PGA Tour pro golfer’s first day came to light, and the golf world could not keep their laughter to themselves.
Famous PGA Tour golfer’s struggle with an embarrassing first day
Let’s face it, first days are a rollercoaster of emotions – some good, others not the best. Similarly, like most other professions, golfers also get the jitters on day 1. However, what complicates things several folds for these professional golfers, is the fact that all of their moves are being televised.

So, if things don’t work out as they expect them to, you’ve got a lot of people to face, as a repercussion. Well, one player that should be well versed with the after-effects of a totally unexpected first day is Tony Finau.
If you think you had the most embarrassing first day at work, we beg you to consider the sad case of Finau.
While discussing his first tee shot as a PGA Tour pro at Beef’s golf club, Tony Finau admitted to having made people laugh even before he hit the shot.
Finau said, “I tee my ball up, they announce my name, and as soon as I take the club back I rip one of the loudest farts you’ve ever heard. I hooked this thing out of bounds. People were already laughing before I hit the shot.”
His response was tweeted on Twitter with a rather funny prompt. Surely, we have our sympathies with Finau on this one.
The Tour makes a blunder on the final day at the CJ Cup
The upheavals faced by the golfing community seem to get complicated by the day. PGA Tour is one of the major players involved.
Recently, it made a blunder. It was widely criticized by fans online, and rightly so. What actually happened was that the Tour broadcasters did not cover the first two hours of the final group on the final day at the CJ Cup.
Rory McIlroy, Kurt Kitayama, and K.H. Lee were among the members of this group.
This unfortunate occurrence was described as embarrassing by fans. Their long wait did not provide them with the insights they desired into the performance of their favorite player.
However, this was not the first time fans were enraged after missing a significant portion of coverage at one of the Tour’s events. The same thing happened at a recent PGA Tour event, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club Golf in America. Fans were enraged at CBS for failing to cover a significant portion of the event. They demanded significant improvements. However, there is clearly still a long way to go.
