Yesterday the Amundi Evian Championship concluded by giving the world its first French Evian winner. And while Celine Boutier is enjoying her top rank, the event turned out to be amazing for other golfers too.

The event was a big success for Nelly Korda who finished  T9 after a season full of struggle due to health issues. And supporting Korda in her quest to reclaim her top form is another LPGA Pro who herself delivered a great performance at the tournament.

LPGA pro, Meghan Khang also participated in the event. After the final round, she finished T9. This is another great achievement for Khang who in the last couple of years has made top 10 finishes in all the major tournaments except for Women’s British Open. And at the press conference after the game yesterday, Khang was presented with some important questions on playing good golf in reference to her good friend Nelly Korda. The interviewer asked Khang that Korda says that good golf speaks for itself. Does she share the same sentiment?

To this, Kang replied in the affirmative. She said, “It definitely does. You know, I think when you’re just playing your game, and obviously golf you never know what you’re going to get. You’re going to get good days, bad days. I think the work you put in definitely shows.” And then she took the chance to praise Korda for her outlook and attitude toward the game. “Nelly is a perfect example. She had an injury and she’s crushing it. She is probably one of the hardest workers I know. Yeah, it’s pretty cool to see her bounce back too quickly.”

Megan Khang wants better results for herself

Megan further reflected on her own performance. Though in comparison to others, Khang did fairly well but was not much satisfied with her results. She said: “I’m looking at the birdies start this week and I had like 19 birdies and it’s so upsetting to me that I’m only 5-under. But just try and take more positives.” She further added that as good golf speaks for itself, she will keep going and improving herself.

Khang and Korda both played at the event and the friends made a similar finish besides Atthaya Thitikul, Su Ji Kim, and the up-and-coming golfing star Rose Zhang.
