‘One of My Idols’: World No. 1 Jon Rahm Heaps Praise on Compatriot Rafael Nadal

Jon Rahm is the current World No. 1 golfer. Recently, he was at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, playing the fourth event of the 2022 PGA Tour season. Notably, after his round, he spoke about tennis great Rafael Nadal, at this year’s Australian Open, and was all praise for his fellow Spaniard.

Jon Rahm praised his fellow countryman, Rafael Nadal, after Jon finished his final round at Farmers Insurance Open. He said, ” I get lucky enough to play a round of golf with him and then I’ve gone to a few tennis events and we’ve met afterwards. He is an avid golf fan and he plays golf, a lot, a lot and a lot of golf.”

Jon added, “He’s one of those that in-between tournament days, he’s playing golf, or before and after he might be playing golf. He’s an absolute nut. He’s one of my idols, I don’t know how many Spain has, but if he were to win it would stay like that. To be the undisputed greatest of all time at a sport is very unique.”

To much amusement, and in an enthralling fashion, Rafa won his 21st Grand Slam title yesterday by winning the 2022 Australian Open.

Who won the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open?

Rahm entered the final round with one stroke behind the leaders. However, he couldn’t produce a win at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open. As a result, he finished tied for the third position after the final round. He finished the tournament with an overall score of 14 under par.

Notably, Luke List went on to win his first PGA Tour title in his 207th start on tour. The American hit a perfect approach shot on the playoff hole to stop Will Zalatoris from winning the title.
