It’s been a while since Bryson DeChambeau made the headlines for his sporting accolades. Having switched to the LIV Golf Series for a reported nine-figure deal, the 29-year-old is yet to win an event in the rebel league.

However, days after clearing his name from a major lawsuit against the PGA Tour, DeChambeau went low at the LIV Tulsa event. And the former major championship winner had no hesitation in clamoring about his latest performance on social media.

Despite being the captain of his Crushers GC squad, DeChambeau has so far failed to lead the way in terms of on-field performance. The 2020 US Open champion hasn’t recorded a single top-10 finish in the league and is languishing at the bottom of the individual leaderboard.

However, a week before the PGA Championship, the season’s second major, commences, The Scientist seems to have found the formula. While he doesn’t lead the ongoing LIV Tulsa event, DeChambeau stands fourth in the rankings ahead of an all-important Sunday showdown.

The leader’s stupendous performance was matched by the team’s leading light this season, Charles Howell III. Together, the pair carded 13-under-par in the second round, which rose Crushers to the third spot in the team standings.

It was enough to get DeChambeau fired up for Sunday’s final round. “1 more day,” he wrote in his story while tagging the appreciation post about him and Howell.

Why did DeChambeau clear his name from the PGA Tour lawsuit?

Already a rising name in the PGA Tour’s books, many were left surprised to DeChambeau walk away after earlier claims of loyalty. The move followed him into lawsuits against the PGA Tour and similar bodies, some of which are at the brink of conclusion.

While the European Tour reigned supreme over its defectors, a similar story could soon unfold in the country. The latest reports claim that DeChambeau has taken off his name from the high-profile lawsuit, which means there are no other golfers left. The 29-year-old signed up for the case after the PGA Tour denied his PIP money over his LIV switch.
