Once a Power Couple, Lindsey Vonn Exclaimed Her Biggest Similarity With Tiger Woods That Kept Them Happy, in a 2013 Interview

Tiger Woods has had a pretty rough personal life. From his terrible accidents and car crashes to his neverending surgeries and sports injuries, the list goes on. However, there is one more thing that has been unstable in Woods’ life- his relationships. It has been some time since Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn broke up. But there was a time when Vonn could easily count the similarity between her boyfriend and herself.

Lindsey Vonn highlighted her similarities with Tiger Woods

Woods and Vonn were together for a very short time. It was not long after Woods’ divorce from Elin Nordegren that he found his true love in the Olympic skier. However, it was not meant to last very long for the two either. Woods and Vonn got separated after being together for just three years. But there was a time when the two were visibly happy with each other.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Vonn said, “We just are happy,” while the two were still seeing each other. “We’re similar. We’re both at the top of our sports, and we relate really well to each other,” she said. She even talked about how the two were not really that apart from each other. The most interesting part about Woods and Vonn being in a relationship was that both of them were the best in their fields. And the best part was that both of them could easily relate to each other’s lifestyles and work schedules.

But Woods, being the more famous one among the two, definitely had more red carpets to attend. During the interview, Vonn was asked what was tougher for her between preparing for her sport or getting ready for red carpets. She said, “When I’m training, it’s just physical…But it’s nice for me to kind of break things up and go to events like this.”.

Why did Woods and Vonn break up?

Amidst all the rumors, Vonn and Woods decided to step in and inform their fans about their splitting up. And since the two had a huge following on social media, Woods and Vonn decided to take things to Facebook to make the announcement. “After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together.” Vonn wrote.

The two also tried to explain the reason behind their split and said, “Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.”. It was a really hard time for both Woods and Vonn. But the golfer mentioned that Vonn had always been an amazing person to him and his family. And despite their split, the two maintained mutual respect towards each other.
