Golf is a sport full of controversy. From one of its biggest, like the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, to others, like the ball rollback, every decision and move in sports seems to leave someone offended and lashing out. Recently, a PGA Tour veteran was caught in one such situation and was left extremely offended because of the insulting joke involving himself and Jordan Spieth.

Banter, of course, is part of every game, including golf. From the fans to the reports, everyone has jokes and suggestions to dish out when it comes to the players at times. Unfortunately, one fateful day, the world-renown Kyle Porter picked PGA Tour veteran James Hahn as his target.

Taking to Twitter, the CBS reporter wrote, “Spieth’s back probably hurts from carrying James Hahn around for the last seven years.” While Porter may not have meant any real harm with his funny statement, the two-time PGA Tour winner didn’t take it the same way. He was more than offended and hurt by the joke.
Not any worse than PGAT fanboy accounts. I got Kyle on my jock strap 24/7. It’s not any better on the other side. And to think the PGAT is encouraging this type of behavior is absolutely disgusting. https://t.co/gKnTqdC8P1 pic.twitter.com/bBbEOAYNaH

Recently, he publicly lashed out at the reporter for it on Twitter. “I got Kyle on my jock strap 24/7,” he wrote, posting a snippet of the CBS man’s joke he wrote on Twitter. “And to think the PGAT is encouraging this type of behavior is absolutely disgusting.” Clearly, the tour pro felt like he was being picked on, and it wasn’t something he appreciated.

What led to Hahn’s outburst?
Surprisingly, it wasn’t the joke itself that had set off the 41-year-old; it was hypocrisy. He had read a tweet of Max Homa dissing “LIV stan accounts” for creating drama, and he claimed that the same things happened on the Tour side as well and that the Tour too had accounts that would try to do the same for players on their end.

The hypocrisy of the entire situation was something Hahn hated. He didn’t want someone with skeletons in their own closet pointing fingers. “Not any worse than PGAT fanboy accounts,” he wrote, referring to Porter in his tweet. “It’s not any better on the other side.”
