Nelly Korda's $1,099 goodie bag—Is this the ultimate reward for Olympic athletes or just over the top?

As the world’s top athletes gather in Paris for the summer Games, they’re not just honored by medals; there’s something more! The latest talk in P-town has to be about the amazing goodie bags! All the stars, including the golfers who are about to tee off at Le Golf National in a few hours, have gotten this amazing goodie bag. New Zealand rugby star Tyla King gave us a sneak peek into the Olympic goody bags, and trust us, it’s no short of a treasure!

In her latest TikTok video, King showed everything, one by one, to the camera. First off, athletes get a sleek black trendy tote bag with the Olympic logo and the ‘Athlete 365’ written on it. But that’s just the beginning! Inside, they’ll find a giant Olympic flag with words of value like solidarity, inclusion, and respect printed on it, which acts as a reminder of what the big showdown stands for.

But wait, there’s more! Athletes also get not one but two water bottles, one from the refreshing soft drink brand Coca-Cola and the other from the sports drink brand Powerade. These bottles will definitely help athletes from around the world stay hydrated in style! And let’s not forget the small bag packed with essentials like an oral toothbrush and toothpaste, Head & Shoulders shower gel, hand sanitizer, and Febreze air freshener. Such quality products for your amazing talents!

And the showstopper in the Olympic goodies bag has to be the brand-new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phone, worth a whopping $1144.36! Yes, that’s right, every athlete who participates in the Olympics receives a brand-new phone in the gift bag! This is not the first time the Olympics have given out expensive phones. According to King, she didn’t have to buy a new phone in the last nine years, courtesy of the Olympics. King competed at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where she secured a silver medal for women’s rugby, and at the 2020 Tokyo Games, where she scored the gold.

What are the conditions at the Olympic Village?

The main problem at the Olympic Village is the lack of air conditioning. The Olympic Village in Paris has turned into a scorching hot zone, leaving athletes feeling drained and worried about their performance. This is understandable because the shortage of air conditioning is taking a toll on their bodies and minds. Athletes struggle to get a good night’s sleep, and some have come forward with their concerns.

The Australian representative for the swimming competition, Ariarne Titmus, said, It probably wasn’t the time I thought I was capable of, but living in the Olympic Village makes it hard to perform,” per Metro. Even with 2,500 temporary cooling units installed, the heat remains a major concern. There’s multiple factors that make village life far from ideal,’ said former Olympic swimmer James Magnussen.
