Is it fair for the Olympics to restrict Scottie Scheffler from having Ted Scott as his caddie?

Behind every amazing golfer is an exceptional caddie, helping them through thick and thin. Scottie Scheffler and Ted Scott are no different. Fans have witnessed quite a few great moments with the duo over the years of their partnership, but is that going to be the case for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well? The answer is yes!

A caddie plays a crucial role in supporting a golfer during a game, and the Olympics recognize their importance. According to Olympic rules, a caddie can accompany the player on the course, carrying their clubs and giving assistance when necessary. The rule suggests, A caddie may accompany a player on the course, carry the player’s clubs, and assist with strategy, yardage, reading of greens, and club selection.”

A caddie can help golfers navigate the greens by using their expertise to read the slope and curve of the greens. So it’s safe to say that Scott will be accompanying Scheffler at Le Golf National, as he has accompanied him to all the events ever since their partnership in 2021. Yes, that’s right! The duo has been with each other for almost 3 years now, and Scott surely proved to be a blessing for Scheffler.

While Olympic golf shares a lot of similarities with the PGA Tour, there are some unique twists. For instance, the Olympic format is different from that of the PGA Tour when it comes to the cut., whereas in the PGA Tour, players are eliminated mid-tournament. This is not the case in the Olympics. All 60 golfers play all four rounds.

You could say that the no-cut rule is similar to LIV Golf’s format but with an extra 18 holes. Rest everything remains pretty much the same. In case of a tie, there is a playoff to decide the winner.
