The men’s Olympic golf competition came to a terrific end on Sunday. Scottie Scheffler stole the show with his last-minute win and went home with gold. But the golf show is yet to unfold at Le Golf National. The Women’s Olympic Golf Championship begins in a few hours on Wednesday and will run through Saturday with defending gold medalist Nelly Korda looking to go 2 for 2. But people are also looking out for Australia’s Minjee Lee.

This year was an exceptional year for the Australian Lee siblings, as they both got the opportunity to represent their country in Paris. With his championship coming to an end, will Min Woo Lee caddie for sister Minjee Lee starting Wednesday?

The final PGA Tour event to earn FedEx Cup Playoff points, the 2024 Wyndham Championship, is scheduled for Aug. 8–11 at Sedgefield CC. Even though Min Woo Lee was there to support his sister for the practice round, he will not be able to caddie for her, as the golfer is teeing off in the PGA Tour event.

The top 70 players of the FedEx rankings will compete in the FedEx Cup, Min Woo Lee currently sits at 62. Although he would have qualified, his chances might have been at risk if someone behind him had a better week. Moreover, he eventually stated that he would be off to America for the championship right after the Olympics.

“Jetting back to America to play in the @wyndhamchamp to end the regular season. Lets try get the kitchen cookin’ and make a push for the playoffs 👨‍🍳👨‍🍳👨‍🍳 #AllezAus”, wrote Min Woo Lee posting a picture from the Le Golf National, thanking his entire team for helping him through the Olympics week.

If not The Chef, then who will be on Minjee Lee’s bag? It most probably would be her seasoned caddie, Rance De Grussa, who is also Australian. The two started their partnership last September when Lee parted ways with Jason Gilroyed, who caddied her for five LPGA Tour seasons. The Wyndham Championship will be Min Woo Lee’s last week to shine this season on the PGA Tour after the disappointing Olympics finish on Sunday.

Min Woo Lee bagged a T22 at the Le Golf National

Everyone who comes to the Olympics comes with one goal only, that is to have a podium finish. Sadly, Min Woo Lee did not have that. He tied for the 22nd position along with Guido Migliozzi on Sunday. He finished at 7-under, 12 strokes behind the winner. The Olympic debutant had a terrible opening round, starting with a double bogey on the first hole. He went on to card another double bogey on the 15th hole and three bogeys in the front nine, for an over-par score of 76.

Friday was comparatively smoother, and his best round was at Le Golf National. Carding eight birdies and just two bogeys, Lee bagged a 6-under 65. For the last two rounds, he ended up with the same score (68). He could have done much better, but he is grateful that he was allowed to play for his country!

Lee siblings always support each other, and though The Chef would not be able to cheer for his sister on the greens, he sure would be very happy for her if she gets a podium finish. After all, Minjee Lee would also love to play a mixed Olympic Golf competition with her brother, if given a chance, and this shows the kind of bond the two share.
