

Retired Olympic gold medalist, Caitlyn Jenner, recently played at the LIV Golf Pro-am. Greg Norman organized the event at Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster. Jenner was paired with Ian Poulter, Paul Casey, and Hailey Ostrom. She showed support for the LIV Golf Tour and shared her experience after playing at the event. But her statements made it to the headlines when she bashed the “hypocritical” criticism by PGA Tour supporters against LIV Golf.

Caitlyn Jenner calls out hypocritical criticism against LIV Golf
Jenner was very happy after playing in the LIV Golf Pro-am alongside professionals like Ian Poulter and Paul Casey. She also gave her opinions about the LIV Golf Tour and said the tour has a long way to go and is “around to stay”. Among all her comments about the league, she emphasized on how she felt the league is being criticized for its Saudi connections, while everyone is a part of the act.

Jenner called out the LIV Golf’s criticism “…very hypocritical in so many ways [especially] with the Saudi’s Public Investment fun.” She added, “To be honest with you, who put the bulk of that money? They’re probably us. We’ve been buying oil from the Saudis for years and years…I mean, they’re heavily invested in Boeing. Are people not flying on Boeing aircraft because of this?”
Greg Norman similarly made a statement about the PGA Tour’s involvement with Saudi Arabia. He specifically pointed out that the biggest sponsor of the Women’s PGA Tour is a Saudi-based oil company. Jenner continued to talk about LIV and said “it’s not only in the future is the golf going to be interesting and good business, but the business side of professional golf is going to be very interesting…”

PGA Tour players respond to LIV golfers’ lawsuit
11 LIV golfers filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour on Wednesday after being banned by the league for joining the LIV series. In response to the news, Jay Monahan released a statement a few hours later saying – “We have been preparing to protect our membership and contest this latest attempt to disrupt our Tour, and you should be confident in the legal merits of our position.”

A lot of PGA Tour players also responded to the lawsuit via interviews and social media. “Deep down we share the same opinion, that you can’t have it both ways,” Will Zalatoris said in an interview. While Kevin Kisner said, “I feel like they should be content with the decision they have made and stick with where they moved to.”

Golfers like Max Homa and Harry Higgs also tweeted regarding the matter taunting LIV Golf. It is officially a decision for the court to make now. Most people knew that the matter was going to reach the courtroom. But no one expected it to be initiated by the LIV golfers.
