The 2024 PNC Championship is just around the corner. Fans are excited to see Tiger Woods back on the course with his son, Charlie Woods at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Florida. They will face tough competition against Team Player, Lee Trevino & his son, John Daly & John Daly II, and many more great teams.

Despite the GOAT’s injury crisis, Team Woods is still one of the favorites heading to the tournament. Yes, there is no doubt they will receive a lot of support from the fans and fellow golf professionals. One likely PGA Tour pro backing Charlie Woods & his father will be Justin Thomas.

Thomas has always been a close friend of the Woods family. The 2022 PGA Championship winner has always shared a great bond with Mr. T. While they were always great on-field partners pairing up in various Presidents Cup triumphs, their friendship grew after Tiger Woods’s fatal accident a few years ago. In fact, the 82X PGA Tour winner considers Thomas a younger brother while also viewing him as the older brother to his son, Charlie Woods.

However, a story posted by Justin Thomas a few minutes ago suggested he might not be supporting Team Woods in the 2024 PNC Championship. The story captioned, “I love this @will_mcgee2. This reminds me of stuff I’d do as a kid!!,” possibly suggests that the 15X PGA Tour winner might be rooting for Team Annika this weekend.

Pairing up with his mother; Annika Sorenstam for the tournament, William McGee was seen practicing his short game while receiving words of encouragement from his father, Mike McGee. Interestingly, the post was originally shared by the official Instagram handle of the PNC Championship. So it might seem like the event officials might have also placed their bets on Team Annika.

While all this might be just a case of the golf community encouraging the young William, Charlie Woods may need to fight with him for his elder brother’s attention. Whom else will Team Woods be fighting against? Let’s find out.

Charlie Woods & Tiger Woods face tough competition

The support of the golf community might swing either way, but Tiger Woods & Charlie Woods will need to stay focused on their performance in the PNC Championship 2024. The father-son duo will go up against Tiger Woods’s former rival Vijay Singh and his son, Qass Singh.

With the 5x Masters Tournament winner getting close to qualifying for the PGA Tour Champions, it will be interesting to see how he will face off against Singh. This would be a good time to reignite the rivalry and build up the anticipation of his eventual arrival on the Seniors Tour.

Of course, LPGA Tour legend Annika Sorenstam and her son William also possess a great threat. You can never count out other PGA Tour greats like Supermex, Lee Trevino, who recently celebrated his 85th birthday, & Daniel Trevino, Gary Player & Alexander Hall, and John Daly & John Daly II. The tournament will also feature Nelly Korda with her father and grand slam tennis champion, Petr Korda.
