As per Golfweek’s recent report, Zhang cited fatigue as a contributing factor to her disappointing performance. She mentioned that she had “caught a cold” and experienced a challenging travel experience, enduring “a nine-hour delay” and arriving in Ohio at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Despite her exhaustion, Zhang managed to play well in the opening round, shooting a solid 5-under par. However, her tiredness caught up with her on the second day, leading to six bogeys and no birdies, resulting in a disappointing 6-over 77.

Why were the expectations for Zhang so high?

Rose Zhang had garnered comparisons to the legendary Tiger Woods, setting high expectations for her professional career.
