All eyes were on Rose Zhang as she teed off at the highly anticipated 2023 Dana Open. With high hopes and aspirations, the tournament represented a crucial moment in her fledgling professional career. The golf world eagerly anticipated her performance, expecting her to continue her impressive run.
However, to the surprise and disappointment of fans and analysts alike, Zhang’s journey at the Dana Open took an unexpected turn. In a shocking turn of events, she missed the cut after posting rounds of 66 and 77. It was a significant setback for the young golfer, who had been consistently performing well since turning professional and even put on a brilliant game in the first round.

As per Golfweek’s recent report, Zhang cited fatigue as a contributing factor to her disappointing performance. She mentioned that she had “caught a cold” and experienced a challenging travel experience, enduring “a nine-hour delay” and arriving in Ohio at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
Despite her exhaustion, Zhang managed to play well in the opening round, shooting a solid 5-under par. However, her tiredness caught up with her on the second day, leading to six bogeys and no birdies, resulting in a disappointing 6-over 77.
