The Ryder Cup is still far away for the season of 2023, but it is making the headlines. And the reason is whether LIV defectors will play at the event. The former number one golfer, Nick Faldo, has presented his views about the matter. When last year, more and more golfers joined the Saudi-backed tour and left the American tour behind, fans were upset. It also cost PGA, as they had to let go of their skilled players. However, as a result, the Tour commissioner Jay Monahan banned the LIV players from playing any of the PGA Tour events. But eventually, things started changing.
The English golfer talked to Jamie Weir on Sky Sports recently. He mentioned that the LIV players should not play in the Ryder Cup. They should give up their rights to play on the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour for good. Faldo is an 11-times Ryder Cupper. Then why did he say this? Let’s find out the reason he stated.

Nick Faldo comes clean about the Ryder Cup 2023
Golf Digest shared the statement by Faldo about LIV golfers playing at the Ryder Cup. They quoted the interview where the legendary golfer said, “They’re done. It’s a rival tour. If you work for a company for 20 years and you then leave to go to a rival company, I can promise you your picture won’t still be on the wall. You’ve moved on. Fine, off you go.” DP World Tour has treated the situation in the same way. They replaced Henrik Stenson with Luke Donald as the Europe team captain.

Faldo believes that the golfers made their decision to join the rival tour. It was evident that they would have to pay the price. The players did the math and chose money above legacy. Now no turning backs should be appreciated by the authorities. Golfers also knew they would lose sponsors once they left PGA. They still did. And now that they have decided, they should stick to it for good.
