When the Premier Golf League was announced, a lot of feathers were ruffled. Some were confused about the new league, while some remained firmly against it. However, the PGL is determined and motivated to sign players for a possible rival league to the PGA Tour.
The PGL seem to believe they are here to grow golf, something which the PGA Tour has apparently failed to do. Players have been approached to join the PGL, with promises of huge money prizes and more being made.
This time again, the PGL has taken another dig at the PGA Tour, which is a little more direct, to say the least.

What does the PGL have to say to the PGA Tour?
The PGL’s recent tweet directly refers to a PGA Tour player, who might want to talk with them and help golf move forward. “We want the members of the various tours to know what value is on offer so they can make up their own minds,” they wrote. Additionally, they want people who matter to them to understand what they are doing and why they are doing it.

“There’s nothing to fear in that conversation.”
The PGA Tour has been coming up with ways to popularize and lift their game, which the PGL has been countering all on their own.
Recently, the Tour has reportedly introduced a series of international events, which will help every player earn more. While nothing is finalized, this has received a mixed response from fans. Many directly connected this to the PGL, wondering why both cannot work at the same time.
PGL’s previous message to the PGA Tour
In response to the Tour’s idea of international events, PGL had its own response. A fan reached out, wondering why the Tour is using someone else’s idea and not trying to actually grow the game. The PGL gave their response, asking the fan to not worry as they had “planted some dummy ideas” in their documents.
“Next week they’re announcing a move to airflow balls,” the PGL wrote, adding that anyone with the best mind will work towards the betterment of golf.

Before this, the PGL has also spoken about the evolution of golf, which could be a hint for them asking the PGA Tour to evolve with the time.
