The 29-year-old performed a “shoey” at the aforementioned event. The scientist chugged the beer that he had poured into his shoe. On the actual course, the former major champion refined his performance. It’s not even the greatest part, though. After the event, an old video of DeChambeau surfaced, making the behavior even more intriguing. The LIV golfer was heard stating in the video, “No drink for me. I party, but I won’t drink. It’s just not my style.”

The old footage of DeChambeau criticizing alcohol is from an interview he gave after winning the US Open in 2020. By drinking at the range and doing so from a shoe, the 29-year-old has undoubtedly now broken his own rules. It seems like his $125,000,000 switch to LIV Golf has changed his heart. He wasn’t the only one who did it, though. Cam Smith performed one as well in a DJ performance that was organized for the tournament’s spectators. However, the Aussie had previously refused to do the “shoey”.
