Bubba Watson is on his way to becoming the latest PGA Tour star to make his way to LIV Golf. Since the PGA Championship in May, the golfer hasn’t participated in any of the Majors in 2022 due to injury. However, Watson will return to professional golf before the beginning of this fall, but only to play for the nemesis of the PGA Tour. Today we look at how the fans on Twitter reacted to Bubba Watson’s latest speculation.

The third event in the LIV Golf Invitational Series, taking place at Trump Bedminster, will feature an official announcement from Bubba Watson. The 86th-ranked player in the world hasn’t competed since withdrawing from the Charles Schwab Challenge due to a ruptured meniscus in May. He didn’t compete in the previous two Major championships.
Though Watson’s move to the Saudi-backed Tour is not official yet, fans on Twitter have already begun to share their thoughts on the move. Let’s take a look at how the golf world reacted.
Fans on Twitter react to Bubba Watson joining LIV Golf
Watson, a 12-time PGA Tour winner including the 2 Major wins in Augusta National, has joined the ranks of former Masters champions who have joined LIV, including Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, and Dustin Johnson. Nine of the last 19 Masters champions will now compete for LIV Golf.

With the fans eagerly waiting for an official statement from Watson, let’s take a look at how the fans responded to the breaking news:
Not looking good. I’ll keep playing and teaching my kids and future grandchildren the game but looks like I won’t be watching golf on tv. Not a huge loss. But still sad.

See ya! It just keeps getting better as a PGA tour fan, no Sergio, no reed, no poulter, and now no bubba! Can you say addition by subtraction!

Perfect for players who'll never win again on the PGA Tour and they'll receive great riches from it. Just wish the players would simply say it for what it is.

That doesn’t surprise me one bit, again hasn’t done anything since his Masters… but he always said I only play golf because I’m good at it. Not because he loves it. So, money will always be a factor for Bubba.

That’s what LIV is, just pay the PGA players (knows names) more money. And of course, the one’s playing bad the past years, are the ones who travel for the money, cuz even if you “team” finished last of the 48 players is more $

LIV, where mediocre players hang out until age qualified for Champions Tour.

No great loss. Fits the # livgolf player profile. Hasn’t won is a long time, not in contention lately, driven by money and fame, doesn’t want to work so hard anymore. A has-been. The #livgolf tour has become a younger version of the Champions tour, except for $$.

Exactly. Getting rid of a lot of dead wood and making room for more young talent.

More details about Watson’s move to LIV Invitational Series
When LIV Golf returns in September at its subsequent event outside of Boston, Watson will serve as one of the team captains. Due to his injury, it is anticipated that he won’t play. The 2-time Major champion will reportedly earn roughly $48.6 million for the move.
In 2023, when the lucrative Tour grows to 14 events and locks in its 12 four-man teams, which is a significant task in LIV Golf’s plans. The plan is to eventually sell such franchises and give captains the ability to select their own players as well as drop or trade them.

At the Saudi International tournament on the Asian Tour earlier this year, which was organised by Golf Saudi and funded by the Public Investment Fund, the source of LIV Golf, Watson came in second place to Harold Varner III by one stroke. It was one of the best finishes the 43-year-old had in recent years.
Now with his move to LIV Golf, will Bubba Watson finally bring back his old form?
