Tiger Woods is highly known for his humble behavior with his fans and friends. The golfer doesn’t have many friends in the golf community. However, he is very supportive of everyone close to him. And there was a time when Woods appreciated his then-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn on her return to her respective sport.

Tiger Woods’ appreciation for Lindsey Vonn’s return
Lindsey Vonn is a former Olympic skier and has had a highly decorated career in the sport. She started competing in professional races in the early 2000s and entered the Olympics in 2002. And eight years later, Vonn won her first gold medal in 2010 in Vancouver.

Like Woods, Vonn has also suffered multiple injuries during her skiing days. She even met a few injuries that would have been impossible to return from for most other athletes. However, when she came back from such an injury, her partner Tiger Woods had the biggest level of appreciation for her. Talking about Vonn and how risky the sport she played was, he compared his injuries with hers.

“I’m not going to die in my sport,” Woods said. “What they [Alpine skiers] do and the surfaces they’re on…it’s just scary how fast it is and how dangerous.” According to him, Vonn’s sport involved “pure aggression”, while golf was merely a “physical chess match”. Explaining Vonn’s return to the sport after having an injured knee on December 21, 2013, Woods said, “she really hadn’t skied that competitively in two years… To be able [to] take those chances and take [those] risks without having her knee blow out on her is pretty cool.”
Why did Woods and Lindsey Vonn break up?
After being together for almost three years, the power couple broke up after mutually deciding to do so. According to their statements about the split, the two said that they had pretty hectic lives of their own. And therefore, they were not able to spend enough time around each other. The two stated that they will always have great respect for each other despite their split.

Vonn also said that Woods’ family would always hold a very special place in her heart. Woods also mentioned how supportive Vonn had been for him and his family.
