It is a global phenomenon that golf is played by the affluent and all golfers enjoy a wealthy lifestyle. Considering the earnings of the golfers and the recent prize money of LIV Golf, it is easy to create such a perception. However, social media influencer, Paige Spiranac, a former professional golfer herself, sheds light on the struggles of the professional circuit.

Spiranac has always articulated her thoughts and predictions through her social media pages. However in her podcast, Playing A Round With Paige Renee, the 29-year-old talks a lot more in-depth about her feelings.

In the most recent episode, Gavin’s Dear, Spiranac’s main topic of discussion was the commencement of the 2022 NFL season. Nonetheless, the former pro also spilled beans on the unheard struggles faced by professional golfers.

Paige Spiranac exposes the struggles faced in the professional circuit

In the podcast, Spiranac’s guest talks about how because of lack of money he decided to quit playing professional golf. Being a former pro, Paige Spiranac shared the struggles that she faced back in her professional days.

The social media influencer revealed how people have no idea how challenging it is for golfers to maintain the expenses, especially with the money spent on both LIV Golf and PGA Tour. She then reveals her struggles in the podcast.

Paige Spiranac said, “I didn’t have the talent, but also just the money to like I played like 25 tournaments, made money and all of them but to and barely broke even for the year”. She further added, “And it’s like you’re looking at maybe not eating for a week, you have to work multiple jobs, to pay ends knee like it’s really difficult. And it’s hard to be able to put all of your time energy and focus into playing professional golf when you’re so worried about also like how am I going to get to this tournament?”

Spiranac also reveals how difficult it is to maintain finances. She said, “So it’s not easy for people to like, get to that next level, a lot of it is finances”. With the recent lavish contracts offered by LIV Golf and the increase in prize money by the PGA Tour, people tend to think that professional golfers enjoy an exorbitant amount of income.

However, they are only a few golfers out of the thousand in the professional circuit who enjoy the rich offerings of the Tours. The rest of the golfers still struggle to pay for carriage expenses, membership costs, and much more. They need to stay consistent with good form or else they would fail to acquire any endorsement deals.
