The second round of LIV Golf Mexico finished with Bryson DeChambeau leading the charge. He carded six birdies and one eagle to finish with a 66, 13-under. However, after the post-round conference, the golfer sparked a debate in the community. No, not for his performances on the greens. But for his behavior in the interview.
A few hours ago, the official account of LIV Golf shared a clip saying, “Hold up, a man’s got to eat 👋 Let @brysondechambeau finish his granola bar first 😂.” The clip featured DeChambeau snacking on a granola bar while talking to the interviewer at the conference. Initially, he talked about his performance and said, “Yeah, I played some solid golf. A couple of weird breaks today, but all in all, I was really proud of the way I played.”
Continuing, the interviewer asked him to talk about his performance today. The golfer took a bite of a granola bar while listening to her and started chewing it in front of the camera. Responding to the question, he said, “Yeah, Cam [Smith] was playing really well.” But then he suddenly stopped as he was unable to talk and said, “Excuse me, I am eating.” That’s right, all of it happened on camera, and fans seem to have mixed opinions on his behavior.

It’s unusual to see behavior like this from DeChambeau. That’s right, he’s typically one of the most beloved figures in the golf community and for good reason. A great example is his gesture at last year’s PGA Championship. While walking from the 9th green to the 10th tee, he casually tossed his ball to a young fan. When the child missed the catch and someone else grabbed it. DeChambeau stepped back and kindly asked the person to return the ball to the kid. While he earned praise for that, this behaviour is sparking some debate in the community.

What do fans have to say about Bryson DeChambeau?
One fan was completely frustrated over his behavior and said, “For the love of God, can somebody at @livgolf_league please get Bryson DeChambeau to stop eating during his press conferences. These pressers take about 4 to 5 minutes max. Bryson, dude, you can survive until it’s over. Nobody wants to listen to you chew. @brysondech.”
Sure, DeChambeau could have survived at least a few minutes without having the granola bar, as per the fan. Expressing similar sentiments, another added, “Yep, not a great look,” as this behavior looked very irritating for the fans on camera. However, one fan found this amusing and hilariously wrote, “😂😂 love it!” just like DeChameabau took it lightly and said, “I gotta eat,” with a smile on his face.

This fan didn’t talk about him having the granola bar but appreciated him for his sportsmanship and said, “You’re a true sportsman, Bryson!” This comment is likely because of his humble nature. When he was asked about his performance today, instead of talking to himself, he went on to appreciate Cam Smith first, who is looking to end his two-year winless streak. Expressing similar admiration, another added, “LoveU Bryson❤️🔥😍”
