Patrick Reed has been surrounded by controversy through and through. The 33-year-old golfer has defected to LIV Golf in 2022 and is reasonably away from the public’s attention. The golfer is now playing at the LIV Golf Jeddah for the showdown. Recently, a fan’s comment about him has got a lot of attention.
The editorial manager of LIV Golf shared a photo of the American practicing on the course while wearing a shot. The tweet was aimed at LIV Golf making a difference in the game of golf as the PGA Tour prohibits players from wearing shots. However, the fans were not pleased with the change.

Patrick Reed is known for breaking rules and finding himself in various controversies. Whether when he was penalized at the 2019 Hero World Challenge for moving the sand or when he picked up the ball from the rough at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open. In the court of public opinion, he is usually guilty.
Reed broke one rule this time too, but fortunately, he is no more on the PGA Tour and spared from any punishments. The golfer could not handle the heat of Jeddah and opted to wear the abhorred attire by the PGA Tour: the shots.
Patrick Reed wasn’t planning to wear shorts this week at #LIVGolf Jeddah but … heat.
So he went to pro shop and bought a few pairs of shorts.

LIV Golf’s editorial manager, Mike McAllister, shared the defining difference between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf. As players have struggled to wear pants in heat, LIV allows its players to switch to shots without consequences. He shared the photo of Reed practicing and alerted people to watch out for Reed wearing it for the first time in the actual competition.
The people were not amused as the manager had expected. It seems that the pants rule by the PGA Tour does not bother the casual fans. They reacted to the ‘news’ in a sarcastic manner and we are here to see it!

If you thought that there would be at least one comment for LIV Golf, there is none. The Saudi-backed league, just like its player Patrick Reed, is always guilty in the public court of opinion.
