Tiger Woods is one of the most talented players in the world. The 15-time major winner has made millions of fans for his golf skills. And therefore his confidence in his own skills is unmatchable. However, Jon Rahm showed shades of Tiger Woods’ confidence during an interview after a recent tournament victory.

Jon Rahm made confident statements like Tiger Woods

Jon Rahm was the number 1 player according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking for straight 60 weeks. The Spaniard was also ranked number 1 in the world sometime later. But despite all his talent, most fans would not find him as great as golf legend Tiger Woods.

However, Rahm recently had the same confidence in his statements as the former world champion during his recent interview. The golfer won the 2022 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and was receiving praise in his post-match conference. And during his interview, the golfer was asked about how important the victory was for him.

“Very,” Rahm said“I never got a chance to defend my 2019 title…I came with the mentality that, well, nobody beat me in the last two years, so they are going to have to beat me again.” According to his statements, he came in with a confident mindset. He also stated how much he loved the course, and that the course loved him back too. It was the third time the golfer defended his title in the event. However, he expressed the wish to achieve many more such victories.

Rahm called out Woods for giving him useless advice

Tiger Woods is often helpful toward all his fellow players. However, Rahm once claimed that the golfer only had important advice for one player, and that is his “little brother” Justin Thomas“You might need to ask Justin Thomas,” Rahm said during an interview during the Masters. “There’s only one man in this field that hears advice from Tiger because I’ve asked before and I get nothing.”

Rahm also mentioned that when he asked Woods for advice on the field, the golfer said something that was of no use to him. During a practice round at the 2017 Tour Championship, Rahm asked Woods for some important tips about putting. And in response to the question, Woods said, “It’s all about feel,” and moved away. No wonder it was not useful for Rahm since he probably was expecting something a little more specific.
