2021 proved to be a fantastic year for 24-year-old Collin Morikawa. Both his professional and personal life saw major developments as he ended the year in style. However, he recently clarified, progresses in both aspects of his life were different in their own sweet way.
In only his third year as a professional, he won a second major title at the Open Championship. This led him to become the first golfer to win two different majors in his debut appearance. Moreover, after an intense play-off, he bagged the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. To top it off, in a double victory, he won the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship and the Race to Dubai. In addition, he became the first American to win the prestigious title.

Even before the interviewer completed his question, Collin was shaking his head, muttering a quick no. He said, “Not even close. Way more nervous proposing. I mean, it’s not even the same. It’s not even in the same boat. It is so far gone. I mean, golf, I do it every day. Like it’s normal. Proposing is not. Yeah, that morning I practiced with my caddie in the Bahamas and we were on a cart and I was into ropes and going all over the place. I mean, it was nerve-wracking.”
