Phil Mickelson had one of the biggest fan bases in the sport. And rightly so; after all, he has won 45 times on the PGA Tour, including six major championships. But of late, the golf pro has not received any love from the fans. Ever since his jump to LIV Golf, all the praise and cheers for him seem to have turned into hate and trolls. Many fans seemed to have disowned him because of his move. And his recent trolling despite a display of magnificent skill stands testament to that!

Phil Mickelson fails to impress the golf world

LIV Golf’s second season’s second event recently took place in Tucson. Captaining the Hy-Flyers, Lefty of course participated in the event. And at one hole, he even chipped the ball in such a way that the video of it went viral. Despite the ball narrowly missing the hole, it was certainly a remarkable shot. Fans brutally took down the LIV Golf defector in the comments of the video. “$200M to shoot 75 but the man can chip a golf ball,” wrote one, mentioning how much the 45-time PGA Tour winner was paid to jump to the other side. Another said, “That was for triple bogey.”

They didn’t even let the golf pro forget that he didn’t fare too well in that match either. “He finished way at the bottom so he didnt bring much,” said a fan taunting him about his 32nd place finish in the Tucson event. “Pretty good for a guy that shoots 80,” commented another harsh fan.

Top 30 all time, 6 majors, won the PGA in 2020, and secured a 200M bag. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 show some respect,” one said, reminding the others of his huge list of achievements. While another wrote, “Best short game player ever? 👍” It will certainly please Lefty to see he is still beloved by a few out there.
