Lexi Thompson is one of the only three American professional golfers who made their way into the Top 10 Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. She currently ranks six in the standings and has earned the spot because of her passion for the sport and hard work. 

Practice makes a human being perfect, and sports entities are known to keep a routine for themselves to make their game perfect. However, they don’t normally keep up with it if they are not playing the sport. And the 27-year-old American professional golfer loves to keep a routine for her rest days, and she religiously follows it through!

Thompson shared her training routine through her social media page. And it would probably be one of the most intense routines a golfer follows in her day-to-day life!

The everyday training routine of the world no. 6 golfer

“A look inside my solid practice session today…” Thompson revealed her intense training routine through an Instagram post. “I average practicing about 3-5 hours a day but putting alone about 2 hours. Then on top of that, 1-2 hours in the gym training,” her caption further read. “So if I’m not playing an event that is my everyday schedule, hardly ever any days off.”

The Midland Country Club in Michigan hosted the 2022 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational from July 13 to 16. And it was the last tournament Thompson played on the LPGA Tour. Notably, she didn’t play at The Evian Championship, one of the LPGA major tournaments, last week. She also missed the Scottish Open this week held at Dundonald Links.

However, Thompson wouldn’t have gotten any free time in the last couple of weeks, considering her intense training plan! One of the main reasons she could build an almost perfect career from the beginning.

Lexi Thompson turned professional at 16 in 2010 and joined the LPGA Tour in 2012. Ever since then, she has won 11 championship titles, including the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship. She has also represented her country multiple times at the Solheim Cup and Olympics.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old took part in 10 tournaments in the 2022 season and made the cut in all except one. Notably, Thompson made it to the Top 10 in 6 of all the nine tournaments she advanced to the final rounds.
