Anthony Kim has finally stopped resting on his laurels, deciding to get back on the greens. Having to now lay down his claim to the speculated $10 million insurance policy, his return raises more questions than answers. The stage of return is shockingly going to be set at LIV Golf Jeddah. But as the golfer returns to the professional greens for the first time in 12 years, a question arises? Has AK retained the luster of his prime days? Moneywise?
Before his departure from the sport due to injuries, Kim was a prominent figure on Nike Golf’s roster. But is he still a part of it? As per the latest visuals, no! Amidst his glorious return, thoughts about his partnership are surely abounding.
In AK’s first look shared by NUCLR Golf on X, there were see no signs of Nike on him. The absence of the iconic Swoosh logo from Kim’s apparel and shoes speaks volume about how he was let go from the brand’s glamorous golf roster. Businesswise, that sure makes sense for the brand, since AK was not making any professional appearance.

The injured golfer and Nike signed a multiyear deal in 2009, under which he had to be dressed up in brand’s gear from head to toe, and would have to use the brand’s equipment as well. Nike’s retreat from golf equipment in 2016 marked a decline in its golf sponsorships. AK’s Nike snub could be related to that!
Kim’s entry into the LIV Golf event in Jeddah as a wildcard player adds a layer of intrigue to his much-anticipated return. The alleged $7.5 million that he is set to receive by tying up with the PIF-funded side, makes things more intriguing.
With Nike not sponsoring AK anymore, is there a chance that brand could reinstate its endorsement with him? Well, it could happen!

For Kim, the LIV Golf defection could mean not just a return to professional golf but a reinvention of his career under Nike again.
