The 2022 Masters is just around the corner. And apart from being the first major event of the calendar year, it certainly is going to be a special one for Tiger Woods. The 2022 Masters marks the 25th anniversary of Tiger’s first win at Augusta in 1997. Celebrating the same, Nike has just the perfect release for fans.

Nike comes out with special Tiger Woods apparel for his 25th win anniversary

Woods won his maiden major championship title back in 1997 at the Masters. He emphatically won at Augusta, clinching his first green jacket. Notably, the 2022 Masters, which begins on April 7th and continues till April 10th, will mark the 25th anniversary of the first historic win of Eldrick Woods at Augusta National.

As the confirmation of Woods playing at the event is awaited, Tiger’s long-term sponsors and sports clothing giant, Nike, has dropped some special Tiger merchandise.

Not to forget that Nike has been Tiger’s sponsor since 1996 and stuck with Tiger through thick and thin in his long and illustrious golf career.

According to a recent tweet by TWLEGION, Nike has released a new TW polo marking the 25th anniversary of Tiger’s first major win at Augusta. The tweet says, “This popped up on the UK & CAD stores – (don’t think US yet) but special 25th anniversary apparel – “TW had his first major win in 1997. The colour-blocked underarms are a nod to a polo he wore during that tournament.”

The golf polo has TW written on the back near the collar along with 25, commemorating the 25th-anniversary. The two polos appear in the traditional Sunday red and dark pink colors.

A brief summary of Tiger’s deal with Nike

Tiger and Nike came into an agreement back in 1996 when Woods turned professional. His first deal with Nike was estimated to be about $40 million for five years. The duo extended their contract for another five years in 2001 for a whopping $100 million.

Thereafter, a deal of eight years for roughly $20-$40 million per year was signed in 2006. The deal was again extended in the year 2013 and Tiger remained partners with the sporting giants, even when they stopped manufacturing golf equipment in 2016.
