Tiger Woods has finally announced the end of his 27-year partnership with Nike. This has put an end to the multiple rounds of speculation on the matter of their future. Moreover, Nike has also proved that they can also be as good at saying goodbye as the fifteen-time major winner.

The split between the two, despite the heavy rumors, seemed amicable since the two showed how grateful they were for their time together. However, a recent move by Nike has put their goodwill into question. Moments after Woods announced a closed chapter with Nike, the brand made a quick deletion.

Swoosh deleted the 15x major champion from its Nike Tiger Woods page. The deletion was brought to attention by Robert Lusetich, a journalist on Twitter. With his words, he hinted that the brand got extremely lucky with Woods as they went out to find their “next Air Jordan” but ended up finding “Tiger.”

The deal between the golfer and Nike was truly one-of-a-kind and historic in many ways! The 2013 renewal of the deal allegedly made Woods the highest-paid golf athlete. The partnership between the two is regarded as the most “successful commercial relationship.”
