The game of golf requires consistency, high level of determination, and continuous pressure to reach the top and to also receive a good world ranking. Surprisingly, golfers do so by giving it their all to the game.

To share the same, a football player who is often seen playing in celebrity golf events got into a conversation with SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio. There, he voiced openly about golf and the pressures that golfers have to face now and then.

NFL player Kyle Rudolph opens up about the pressure of golf

Kyle Rudolph is an American football tight-end, who also happens to possesses an interest in golf. He plays for the American Century Championship which is a celebrity golf tournament that is usually held in the second week of July. After playing it this year, he went on to share his perspective on the sport and opened up about the challenges.

SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio got into a conversation with Rudolph. They shared it via an Instagram post with the caption, “How does pressure in golf compare to pressure on a football field for former Pro Bowler Kyle Rudolph? He breaks down the margin of error and his approach to the game on “All Square” with @chantelmccabe !”

In the video, the 33-year-old golfer can be seen talking about everything golf. When asked about the pressure in golf in comparison to the pressure on a football field, he responded stating, “You never have it figured out.” He went on to say that golfers have to constantly struggle to figure out how to get better and better with the game as the margin is so small for errors to make. “The margin is so small,” he further continued.

Rudolph further spoke on the schedule as golfers have to play four days a week and there are tournaments going on almost every week. He also emphasized the fact that the athletes have to go out to play every week and have to play 72 holes. This can indeed affect them mentally as they think they are almost there to win but suddenly a poor shot could change the whole game.

Well, this is not the first time someone has mentioned the stress of playing the sport. In a recent interview,World no. 2 Jon Rahm, also discussed the issues with long golf schedules and how golfers have to struggle to maintain their form and calm througout.

Rahm gave an interview following the conclusion of the 151st edition of the Open Championship. When asked by the moderator what he did during his break, Rahm indicated that he was relaxing and spending quality time with his family.

Furthermore, he also disclosed that because the schedule is so extensive, they had contemplated taking a three-week vacation in between at the beginning of the season. He also mentioned that it was nice to be at home, without having to focus on golf.
