So naturally, with the big game coming up against the TCU Horned Frogs, Scheffler was asked for his thoughts. The big guy didn’t disappoint, predicting a win for his dear team.
Scottie Scheffler has strong words for Texas Longhorns
26-year-old Scheffler needed no reminding of the stakes for the upcoming match. Their opponents, TCU Horned Frogs, remain unbeaten this season. They have notched up 9 wins out of nine, while the Longhorns have fallen short on three occasions.
When asked whether his team stood a chance, Scheffler seemed optimistic. “I’m hoping Texas is going to get a win,” he said.

He even chalked out how his team could land the punch against their invincible opponents. “I hope they continue to play great in the first half and improve on their second-half play and really take it to ‘em,” he declared.
Scheffler impressed with Texas squad this season
The PGA Tour player of the year has a special connection with the Longhorns. He spent four years on the golf team while attending college at the University of Texas in Austin. However, even after losing his golf ranking top spot recently, Scheffler was buoyed by his team.

By his own admission, this year has been different. He praised the youthful squad and their willingness to gain early leads, which have proved beneficial over the season. “But the teams, they’ve looked great this year,” he expressed. “It’s been a really fun season to be able to watch the squad.”

Scheffler also defended the marginal defeats that could have gone the other way. “A few of the losses hurt, but we’re building up leads, I think the team’s just a little young and they’re learning. It’s definitely an exciting time to be a Texas football fan.”
