When asked how she thinks the viewership and gameplay would be affected by a joint event, much like Wimbledon where her brother Sebastian plays, she shared her views with some confidence, saying, “I think it would be really beneficial for the sport.” She also shared that the joint event at Grand Thornton Invitational to be hosted in Naples “is a very unique and fun format.”
The Olympic Gold Medalist further added, “I think any single time we can be joined with the men I think that’s going to bring in more viewership. I think it’s never going to be bad for the game of golf. I feel like it’s just going to continue to grow it.”
Nelly and her sister Jessica Korda have been pivotal components in expanding the viewership of women’s golf. Their incredible achievements draw significant attention. The LPGA tour pro admitted that having a joint event for men and women in golf is considerably more difficult than in Tennis. After all, the yardage for the players differs on the same course.
