According to the golfer, she had a lot of fun playing at Augusta last year and it was like her biggest dream coming true. Detailing her time at the course, she said, “Not just the history of the golf course, but how fun every shot was…It’s not straightforward…There is so much creativity that you actually need to have out there.”

And when asked why it was a dream for her, Korda added, “It’s Augusta. It just explains itself right there…So prestigious to even set foot on the golf course. It’s the Masters. It’s the vibe.” Well, after listening to her statements about how much she wanted to play on the course, fans came up with a bright idea for the LPGA Tour. Here’s what some of them had to say:

“The LPGA should have a tournament at Augusta. They deserve it. Go, Nelly.”

“So, why don’t the LPGA play at Augusta? The amateurs do. Why not the BEST women?”

“Please get the ladies a tourney there”

“WHY IS THERE NO LPGA MASTERS? 🙌🔥”

“My favorite golfer on the LPGA Tour Nelly Korda”

“It’s really sad there is no ladies’ Masters. It’s truly a slap in the face.”

“Need to let the LPGA play there for a major”

“There should be an LPGA Masters. Give the people what they want.”

“There needs to be a women’s masters at Augusta”

“do you think its time they did a Ladies’ masters”

“So, let me know when we get that Thanksgiving Women’s @themasters at Augusta👏”

While the world is excited about the upcoming Masters Tournament, some wanted to see the ladies on the course as well. Although there is no such tournament as the Ladies Masters, there is a possibility that Augusta National takes these suggestions seriously. In fact, there was a time when women were not even invited to the prestigious golf course for any tournament. But Augusta officials made the required amendments with changing times and came up with the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Even though Korda couldn’t be a part of it as she turned pro in 2016, it was a big change for women’s golf at the time!

Augusta National took a long time to admit women

It was a historical day for women’s golf back in 2012 when Augusta National made a huge announcement. Becoming a coed club, Augusta chose two extremely influential women to make a notable difference in their policies. However, it took them a really long time to break the barrier and welcome women to the male-only membership club.

As per BleacherReport, there are possibly three reasons for the 80-year-long delay. First off, it is a private club and gets to make its own rules. Also, they needed to make sure that they invited the right members to their tournaments. And so, they waited until they found Condoleezza Rice and Darla Moore for the honor of being the first two women to be invited.
