Nelly Korda vs Carlota Ciganda
The prestigious tournament is reaching its climax with the American team tied with Europe at 8-8. And the focus will be on Ciganda as she hopes to help her nation achieve a historic three-peat against a talented US team involving Korda.
The Spanish professional boasts more Solheim Cup experience than her American counterpart with a total of six appearances from 2013, including the current one. Besides, the golfer has a total of 8 points on her stats sheet which would give her a lot of confidence going into what could be a decisive showdown. The 33-year-old has been in good form for the past two days, winning all of her doubles matches.
Nevertheless, the 25-year-old American is not one to be disregarded. With a total of 5.5 points won throughout her three appearances starting in 2019, the younger Korda sibling has managed to prove to be a reliable veteran to her squadmates this time around by amassing two wins and a loss over Friday and Saturday.

Korda registered a 1-up win against Leona Maguire and Anna Nodqvist in the Friday Foursomes with Allisen Corpuz as her companion; she followed it up with a 5&3 victory against Georgia Hall and Celine Boutier in the Saturday Foursomes with her “clutch putt partner”. She, though, lost 4&3 against Charley Hull and Maguire in the Saturday Fourballs with Ally Ewing as her partner. Can she deal with Ciganda’s big experience in the Ryder Cup?

Who will win amongst the two?
Ciganda, in light of her Ryder Cup experience, appears to have the upper hand. She has won all the matches played over the past two days — a 4&2 win against Angel Yin and Ewing in the Friday Fourballs with Linn Grant as her partner, a 2&1 win against Lilia Vu and Jennifer Kupcho in the Saturday Foursomes with Emily Pedersen as her on-course partner, and a 2&1 win against Danielle Kang and Vu in the Saturday Fourballs with Grant as her companion.

Nevertheless, one shouldn’t be too lax around a professional like Korda since she has proven time and again why she is one of the best on the LPGA Tour. Her credentials are massive. The American won the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship before going on to shine at the Olympics in Tokyo. This is more than enough evidence about her prowess.
