Watching the Korda sisters is just as interesting as watching them off the greens. From time to time, both Jessica and Nelly Korda talk about their relationship. Although Jessica Korda isn’t temporarily playing, she recently described her sister Nelly Korda again, but this time it’s not about relationship but rivalry instead.

Jessica Korda is 5 years older than Nelly Korda and was recently at LPGA Tour’s YouTube channel on the 11th episode of “Back Where Golf Began in St Andrew’s” podcast. In the 49-minute-long video, they talked about a lot of things. She was also asked about the state of their rivalry, both in the past and present. And as a response, the 31-year-old had an intriguing answer.

“So it’s funny that you say that because we never played against each other up until she came out on the LPGA Tour. We never had to compete against each other, like we were always like uplifting each other, and that basically translated into LPGA golf,” said Jessica Korda.

Despite the performance, they always uplift each other. She added, “If, like, either one of us were down like you would see the other one on the range or on the putting brain with the other one, like, we were never Okay, bye. Like you, you suck today. Like, see you later. Yeah, we were always, like, uplifting each other.” 

The elder sister also shared a short story from years ago when they competed jointly at a tournament. During that time, Jessica Korda was under the top 10 after her round. However, a birdie from Nelly Korda would have knocked her sister out of the top 10.

And guess what? It went in!

Talking about it, Jessica Korda hilariously said, “When it went in, I was like, Ha. I was like, Ha, you’re paying for the hotel this week.” Surprisingly, nothing has changed for the sister since 2022.

Back in 2022 Jessica Korda talked about her relationship and revealed how they stand alongside each other in needed times and how they motivate each other saying, “If the other one is struggling with something, the other one’s always there to help, we basically just help each other out as much as we can.” Interestingly, while off the course, the sisters don’t talk about golf but random things like shopping, etc.

Not just Jessica Korda, but her younger sister also revealed that despite being competitive on the greens, both are very close. The 26-year-old also talked about her sister’s influence and said, “Having my sister there always makes me feel more comfortable,” she said.

“With any challenge, you need to work out how to turn the negative into a positive”. Although Jessica Korda isn’t playing at the AIG Women’s Open, her love for her younger sisters remains the same.
