Nelly Korda’s career is reaching an all-time high. The Floridian golfer has added her name to the list of LPGA golfers who have hosted an AJGA invitational, which includes LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, Yani Tseng, and Mariah Stackhouse. In the mere 7 years since her debut, the 25-year-old has an event named after her, showing the impact Korda is leaving on the game of golf.
The all-girls junior invitational would be the newest added event on the American Junior Golf Association’s (AJGA) schedule and would be called The Nelly. Here is a guide to The Nelly and its 2024 schedule.

The core sponsor of this event is Global Partners and AJGA’s product supplier, TaylorMade Golf. The sports equipment brand also became the sponsor of Nelly Korda in 2023, making the AJGA-Korda partnership a suitable event. At The Nelly, the top junior girls from AJGA will play in the 54-hole stroke play. The 66 players’ field will be set before the event. As the name suggests, it will be hosted by the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship winner.
The invitational is a stepping stone for Korda’s career and those participating in the event. The AJGA started the all-boys invitational in 2021, and as the game evolved for women in golf, the organization developed a similar platform for girls. Korda, as a successful alumni of the org seems like the perfect match for the invitational to inspire many on AJGA.
