Golf is an intense sport, and it is especially so in an event like the Solheim Cup where the two teams battle it out on the course amid rising tensions. The added pressure of representing one’s country may also lead to unwanted circumstances related to the golfers’ health if they push themselves over the limits. And the same is the case for Nelly Korda, who has had so major health issues in the past.
The professional had a great start to the biennial event where she won a point for her team by emerging victorious with her partner Allisen Corpuz. But the player’s actions post the first session hinted at a possible concern about her health.

Pressure in a match will at times push the players to go above and beyond. But, occasionally, it has the opposite effect. And, the younger Korda sibling was seen taking precautions to avert such a situation after a successful first foursome session by the American team with her on-course companion Corpuz, winning 1-up against Leona Maguire and Anna Nordqvist.
A post was uploaded by the official Instagram handle of the LPGA Tour which showcases a video of the 1X major champion hilariously commenting on the ongoing game. However, the start of the recording saw her explaining to the cameraman why she was taking a rest and not walking on the course.
Continuing with her response, the 25-year-old revealed how the captain, Stacy Lewis, had instructed them to do so in order to be ready for the matches on Saturday. Moreover, the 8X LPGA Tour winner also mentioned, albeit in a hilarious manner, how she is “listening to the captain.”

The 2020 Olympic Gold medallist had withdrawn from the 2023 Mizuho America Open to take a rest owing to the increasing pain in her back. Although she engaged in a proper treatment plan following the same, Korda would have decided to be especially careful in the future as can be seen with her taking some time off from the greens on Friday evening. In another case of health issues suffered by the pro, the LPGA icon was also diagnosed with a blood clot in her right arm in the month of March in 2022.
Nothing short of respect should be showered upon the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner as she made a successful comeback to the game. The professional made sure to cement her spot on the Solheim Cup team through her determination and hard work. Do you think she will be able to pull off another win on Saturday?
