After ruling the golf world for a whole year, Nelly Korda is finally taking a well-deserved break. Her impressive reign at the top of the golf world has earned her a chance to unwind and recharge. As the Christmas season unfolds, Korda is savoring every moment of her downtime, embracing the coziness of the holiday season.

Korda gave her fans a glimpse into her holiday festivities, posting a picture of her cozy Christmas setup on her Instagram story. The snapshot showed a beautifully decorated tree, a crackling fireplace, and all the trimmings of a festive holiday season. As she enjoys this downtime, golf fans around the world are eagerly awaiting her return to the course, ready to see what new heights she’ll reach in the coming year.

Now, the rumor has it that the other Korda sister, Jessica Korda, is making a comeback to the golf scene, although not as a competitor. After taking time off to recover from a neck injury and welcome her new baby boy, Greyson, Jessica is set to return at the Grant Thornton Invitational this December. She’ll be providing live coverage and conducting exclusive interviews with golf legends, marking her return to the golf world after a brief hiatus.

One of the reasons she was not seen on the greens was because of her child and let’s face it, it was no piece of cake being an athlete whilst taking care of an infant. Like traveling can be stressful enough, but add a baby to the mix and it’s a whole different ball game. As Jessica Korda recently shared on Instagram, the morning routine for a 7:30 flight is vastly different when you’re traveling with a tiny human. Without a baby, you can wake up at 4:20, get picked up by 4:45, and still have time for a quick coffee grab before boarding. Sounds relatively relaxing, right?

But with a baby, it’s a mad dash to get out the door on time. You’re talking about waking up at 3:45, making coffee at home, and arriving at the airport a full hour and 20 minutes before the flight. And that’s not even counting the inevitable TSA stop to gate-check the stroller, the frantic bathroom break to change a diaper (and maybe even sneak in a quick pee break for yourself), and the general chaos that comes with traveling with a baby. It’s exhausting just thinking about it!

Nelly Korda’s 2024 LPGA campaign was a true rollercoaster ride. After dominating the early part of the season with seven wins, including a major, Korda hit a wall mid-season, missing three consecutive cuts. It was a shocking slump for a player who had been nearly unbeatable just weeks before. As Korda herself said, “With golf, it’s up and down. It’s a roller coaster. You can never be comfortable.”

Despite the tough times, Korda proved her resilience and determination, bouncing back from her slump to finish the season strong. Reflecting on the year’s ups and downs, Korda said, “Honestly, it’s been a crazy year… I’m grateful for all of it. I am grateful for the highs; grateful for the lows.” It’s a testament to her character and dedication to her craft that she’s able to find the silver lining even in the toughest of times.
