She came, she saw, she conquered! What else can be used to aptly describe the current world No.1 Nelly Korda as she raked in her 10th victory on the LPGA Tour, and her second in 2024? Well, one could attribute it to the preparations she had put in over the past few weeks. However, there’s a catch. The American golfer was on a break the whole time.
Korda took to an interview following her win at the recently ended FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship. Meanwhile, she couldn’t help but recount the “different change of pace” she experienced during the pleasant break she took with her family in Prague.

“It was so nice,” exclaimed the golfer as she responded to the query she was faced with regarding her recent break from the game. Adding on, she recalled the two and a half weeks in Prague in cold weather as she said, “I really, really enjoyed it,” before going ahead to reveal how putting down her clubs helped, “I don’t remember the last time I put my clubs away and wasn’t injured and was like in a good headspace.”
Adding on, the 10-time LPGA Tour pro said, “Obviously I missed it by three and a half weeks that I didn’t touch a club,” after dubbing it as nothing short of just “super nice.” What’s more, the American also went ahead to call it a much-required change in routine as she said, “It was just a different change of pace and I really liked it.”
However, it’s not as if Nelly Korda didn’t put in any kind of physical work. Elaborating on the same, she recalled, “I was actually there working out too, so at least I had I something to do.” Regardless, she made sure to express how special the break was for her as she disclosed, “I would say it was just so nice being in Prague with my family.”
The golfer would truly be happy after being able to clinch her 2nd win in 2024, especially after a much-needed break. Meanwhile, one cannot help but wonder how such a small time away from the sport helped her rake in her 10th win on the LPGA Tour.
