Golf fans were treated to surprising news on New Year’s Day in 2025. Lexi Thompson got engaged to Max Provost. The golfer who had kept her personal life secret all that time, shared that she had “said YES to my forever and always.” Her holiday to Whistler, Canada proved to be truly magical. Ever since a few things have happened in their relationship.

The couple had a beautiful engagement party on January 13, surrounded by all their loved ones and white balloons. Lexi dressed in white, Max in blue and white, a perfect reflection of the love and joy they felt at that moment. Max’s brown leather shoes added a charming touch of personality. Lexi Thompson celebrated her first Valentine’s Day as a fiancé, dressed beautifully in red. The 30-year-old uploaded a selfie with Provost on Instagram and wrote, “Valentine for life.” Indeed! While playing her last few tournaments in 2024, Thompson shared that she was very excited to start a family.

Now that it has been more than a month since their engagement party, Thompson finally shared the engagement shoot pictures! “LOVE how our engagement pictures came out !!”, stated excited Thompson on Instagram. The couple looked really happy and accompanying them was Leo, Thompson’s cute little Havapoo, who is the love of her life. “When I’m home I love hanging out with my family and friends, but when I’m on the road I go back and hang with my dog. He is my best friend, and he saved my life, and he’s just amazing, so I’m very grateful that he came into my life,” she once said of Leo.

The post was met with extreme delight, with several LPGA Pros complimenting the couple. Nelly Korda went the visual route and used the fire and heart-eyes emoji to express her admiration at the engagement and the photos. Sandra Gal, LPGA Pro from Germany, also took the emoji route with three heart eyes to express her delight. Olympic Gold medalist Lydia Ko also shortly expressed her emotions, letting the couple know that the engagement pictures were on point, “So beautiful!!!!.”

Last year, Thompson had announced that she would be excusing herself from full-time commitment to the LPGA Tour. She had since then been featured sporadically on the course. On one occasion, it was for her close friend Morgan Pressel’s charitable cause. She teed up for the Morgan Pressel Foundation, which aims to combat breast cancer through research and education. Morgan Pressel was very happy for her close friend stating, “So gorgeous!!!!” Then she also played at the Cognizant Founders Cup, finishing T13.

“The Founders are the reason why we’re able to be out here today and to be on the LPGA Tour,” said Thompson of the event. “Those are the women that founded the Tour, so we’re lucky and honored to be able to tee it up here. And this is only about three hours from my home, so definitely an easy trip. I definitely plan on playing a few more times this year.”

And it was not just the LPGA Pros that took part in the excitement. Thompson had endeared herself to the fans, with her great game on the course and wholesome attitude off it.

Max Provost is a Clinical Sales Representative at Intuitive Surgical. Residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Provost graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing.

The felicitations were streaming from every corner as happy fans took to social media to extend their heartfelt wishes. “Congratulations. You deserve this and the best of luck to the couple.”The photos were spectacular, capturing the beauty and the wholesomeness of the moment well. Several fans were excited for the occasion, but the images multiplied the excitement.  “What a lovely photo,” stated one enthusiastic fan. “Love these. So beautiful and handsome,” commented another.
