The World No.1, Nelly Korda, is back on the course after a brief hiatus. And honestly, it felt like forever. We last saw her in action in September at the Kroger Queen City Championship. But now, the golf queen has returned to her rightful place, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. Currently competing at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, Korda has been met with a heartwarming welcome at the Pelican Golf Club.
But here’s the twist—Nelly isn’t the only Korda on everyone’s mind. Jessica Korda, her older sister and equally celebrated golfer, made her presence felt in the most adorable way—through the next generation of fans. During the tournament, two young girls stole the show by holding up handmade signs declaring themselves “the next Nelly and Jessica.” Their effort to this tribute felt so personal, as they even styled their hair in buns, just like the sisters, to complete the look.
This heartwarming moment was first shared by Dr. Jeff Bourguignon, a chiropractor, who proudly captioned it: “Unreal!! Our girls had a dream come true today!” Jessica Korda later reposted the photo on her Instagram story writing, “This is the cutest thing ever!!!”

Even though Jessica wasn’t there in person, her presence was definitely felt. For these young fans, even meeting one of the Korda sisters was already a dream come true—but their tribute to both sisters made the moment even more special. Indeed, the Korda sisters are more than just golfers—they’re role models.
But where has the older Korda sister been lately? Jessica has stepped away from competitive golf, focusing on recovering from injuries and, more recently, embracing motherhood after welcoming her first child. Despite her time off the course, her influence in the golf world remains strong.
Moreover, even though Jessica has taken time off, she’s still very much involved in the golf world. She’s making her return to the Grant Thornton Invitational—but not as a player. This time, she’ll be part of the broadcasting team, giving fans a chance to see her in a new role. What makes this return even more meaningful is how it highlights the unique bond between the Korda siblings. Whether they’re competing together or supporting each other from different corners of the game, their incredible dynamic continues to inspire.

Being in the same industry and often competing on the same stage, it’s easy to imagine a sense of rivalry between the Korda sisters. But for them, it’s always been more about mutual respect and love. They’ve never shied away from expressing their admiration for each other, on and off the course.
Jessica might be a competitor on the course, but to younger Korda, she’s also a source of guidance and calm. Nelly Korda has shared before how having her sister around impacts her game in a big way. Playing together adds a unique kind of pressure—one that pushes her to perform even better. “When Jessica and I compete separately, I miss that scrutiny…like a part of me is missing…and that actually adds to the pressure”. Korda said.
In fact, the 26-year-old sees her sister as a secret weapon. She’s mentioned that Jessica keeps an eye on her game… And steps in with advice when it’s needed, giving her that extra sense of comfort on the course! “Having my sister there always makes me feel more comfortable,” she said. “With any challenge, you need to work out how to turn the negative into a positive”.
