While LIV found it hard to get going in its early days, there were positive whispers from the women’s faction around the rebel league. Unlike her men’s counterpart, LPGA Tour commissioner Mollie Marcoux wasn’t apprehensive about having a talk with Greg Norman and the LIV Golf Series.
“I would engage in a conversation if it would achieve our aim of promoting women’s golf, but there needs to be input from players and sponsors,” she said last year.
Furthermore, Mexican golfer Maria Fassi also explained the buzz of LIV Golf in its debut season last year. “Everybody has different opinions in terms of what the guys are doing. But then when it’s switched to us, it would be very hard to say no to that,” she said.
