Another year, another iteration of Capital One?s ?The Match?. While the 2v2 friendly battles were devised to up the ante against the best golfers around, the competition seems to have deviated slightly. The 2023 edition will be played between some of the most well-known NBA and NFL players, with a match-up looking enticing.

But how do the makeshift golfers fare at the game? PGA Tour pro Collin Morikawa, decided to take it upon himself to study every competitor?s swing ahead of the contest. His assessment will leave you captivated, but who does he back to emerge as the star of the event?

Collin Morikawa picks his favorites ahead of ?The Match?

Having played on the circuit for a long period, Morikawa has seen several golf swings over the years. Indeed, he has made it a point to guide less-fancied golfers for a promotional video, with the subject members involving Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and the? Kansas City Chiefs duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

In the video posted by ?Golf Digest?, Morikawa is seen scrutinizing the celebrity athletes on the basis of their golf swings. While he made several remarks for each of them, the 26-year-old reserved special praise for two-time MVP of the year, Stephen Curry.

Indeed, the pro golfer was appreciative of the Golden State Warriors’ point guard in his analysis. ?You?re gonna be, I wouldn?t say the star of this match? but you might have some of the most quality golf shots. So Steph, you?re my one in this top four so far,? he said.

Who will come out on top in the NBA vs NFL match-up?

While Curry and Mahomes have appeared on ?The Match? before, their teammates Thompson and Kelce will make their debut at the event. Nicknamed the ?Golden Boy? due to his undisputed talent and allegiance, Curry has plenty of golf experience before.

Indeed, the 35-year-old has played on the Korn Ferry TOUR before. He participated in the 2017 and 2018 Ellie Mae Classic in San Francisco, which left fans drooling over his golf talents.
