Since retiring from the sport, American golfer Smylie Kaufman has indulged in broadcasting duties for various golf events on the PGA TOUR. Away from the intense competition on the field, the 31-year-old has found time to begin other ventures, such as his own little podcast.

Kaufman has invited many celebrities on his show, but his latest guest of honor was none other than Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry. The four-time NBA champion talked through a number of topics, but, most importantly, confirmed a bizarre incident involving an interaction between golfer Jordan Spieth and former POTUS Barack Obama.

Being good pals with Spieth, Kaufman has been privy to the three-time major champion’s most embarrassing incidents. However, one such occurrence stood out as too good to be true and required affirmation from someone present during the occasion.

That’s where NBA superstar Stephen Curry comes in. The 35-year-old was asked about the truth behind the story. As Kaufman described it to Curry, “He (Spieth) said that you all had an amazing round of golf. You, your brother, Jordan, and Kevin Plank, and Barack Obama.”

“Can you confirm this for me? Did Jordan really ask President Obama if aliens exist?” he added. In reply, Curry smiled and made a concentrated effort to gather his thoughts, before answering, “I can confirm. Yes, I can.”

Furthermore, the two-time NBA MVP claimed that he backed Spieth on his spirit. “That was amazing. It’s like when you get time with the 44th President of the United States. I would be ashamed if you didn’t ask that question,” he chuckled. “I mean, you gotta shoot your shot, right?”

While neither revealed what the former POTUS answered to Spieth’s query, the duo talked about a host of other things on the podcast. Amongst them was Curry’s participation in the eighth edition of Capital One’s The Match. How did that go for the nine-time NBA All-Star nominee?

Did Stephen Curry win this year’s ‘The Match’?

For the unversed, Curry is a huge golf aficionado. He’s more than just another scratch golfer, though, having participated in the Korn Ferry Tour twice on a sponsor’s exemption.

His latest challenge saw him joining forces with Golden State Warriors’ teammate Klay Thompson in the eighth iteration of ‘The Match’. They faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs’ duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, which turned into a disappointing affair for the ‘Splash brothers’.
