Michael Jordan’s love for golf is quite well known. Moreover, he is also famous for putting a little action into his game. Among the many stories that involve the NBA great showing off his prowess both on and off the golf course, this one stands apart. Why? Because of the bewildering bet MJ proposed to ex-NHL pro Jeremy Roenick.

In an interview on the McNeil & Parkins Show, the hockey star was seen narrating an epic story of playing golf with MJ during one of his off days. They met up with each other at Sunset Ridge, where they went on to play 18 holes, in which Roenick beat Jordan for a couple thousand dollars.

The Chicago Bulls were playing Cleveland that night, and thinking the game was over, Jeremy was getting ready to leave when the legend went ahead and asked for another round. “So we go and fill up a bag full of ice and Coors Light and walk again. We roll around another 18, and I take him for another couple [thousand dollars],” continued the ex-hockey professional smugly.

As the basketball star started to leave after 36 holes and having drunk beers all afternoon, the ex-hockey pro began messing with him and saying that he was ready to put the money he had just won on Cleveland to win against Chicago that night. Jordan, on the other hand, confidently bet back against Roenick and said, “I’ll bet you that we’ll win by 20 points, and I have more than 40 [points].”

What happened after is pure history, as the hockey star recounts how the basketball legend went on and scored 52 to win the game by 26 points in the 1992 NBA season, touting him as “The Best Athlete That I’ve Ever Seen” in the interview. The story not only features MJ’s incredible athleticism but also his competitiveness and dedication to both basketball and golf!

Jordan’s multi-million-dollar dedication to golf

Known for his remarkable performance in the sport of basketball, Michael Jordan has also professed his love for the game of golf multiple times. Moreover, the GOAT even owns a golf course in Florida. The basketball legend has tailored the $2,000,000 golf course as per his strengths and weaknesses, which helps him engage with the game in a private haven of sorts.

The face of Air Jordan would take to the course to play 36 holes whenever he felt like it. His golfing abilities have left many people in awe, as he turns out to be very competitive while playing the game. While Roenick started the story by saying that he shouldn’t share this in the interview, it can’t be denied that the sporting world is extremely better off now that he did.
