A yearly golf event on the PGA Tour Champions is the Insperity Invitational. In addition, it is a professional golf tour reserved for players over 50 years of age. The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas, hosts the competition. Since it was first held in 2004, the competition has gained popularity on the PGA Tour Champions. 78 players are participating in this three-day, 54-hole tournament with a $2.2 million prize pool.

A few moments from The Woodlands have appeared online while the tournament is still going on. These instances have attracted interest and are now in the big news. One such occurrence resulted from the interaction between Gary Player and Lee Trevino.

A sarcastic moment involving Lee Trevino and Gary Player

Back in The Woodlands, Texas, are Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, and Annika Sorenstam. They are present along with 12 other golfing greats who are Folds of Honour Greats. It was hosted on April 29 in conjunction with the UnitedHealthcare Insperity Invitational, as it has been a yearly tradition. A sarcastic incident involving Trevino and Chi-Chi Rodriguez’s marriage took place.

During the event, Nicklaus, Player, Trevino, and Annika were playing together, and 83-year-old Trevino revealed a funny incident when Rodriguez got married. PGA Tour Champions took to their Twitter handle and posted a video of the incident. In the video, The Hall of Famer could be seen saying, “I’m married to a wealthy lady. This is what Chi Chi told me one day when he got married. He said, ‘Man’, he said, ‘I just got married.’ I said, ‘Really, Chi Chi? He said, ‘Oh yeah.’ He said, ‘When I got married,’ he said, ‘My wife made me a millionaire.” I said, Man, that’s great.” He said, ‘But I was a multi-millionaire before I got married.”

After revealing this funny incident, all the spectators started laughing. However, 87-year-old Gary Player did not hold back and sarcastically trolled Trevino. The nine-time Majors winner said, “He’s been married three times, and he says to your friends, ‘If you want to become rich, just become friends with my wife’s ex-husband’.”  However, the six-time major winner did not keep quiet and replied, “Why don’t you tell him how many miles you’ve flown all your life?“

This sarcastic incident hit the internet and went on to become the talk of the town.

Lee Trevino’s married life

The Hall of Famer has three marriages to his name. His 1962 union with Linda Trevino served as his first union. Together, they had two kids: Olivia, a daughter, and Richard, a son. But in 1983, the couple filed for divorce.

Trevino married Claudia Fenley, a model, and former Miss Dallas, in 1983. She was his second wife. Daniel, a son, and Lesley Ann, a daughter, were their two offspring. However, in 1993, their union also ended in divorce.

Claudia Bove is the legend’s third and current wife, whom he wed in 1994. Bove served as Trevino’s publicist and assisted him in starting businesses when he stopped playing competitive golf. They live in the Dallas area and are active in several charitable causes.
