When it comes to Donald Trump and golf, most of the time the 77-year-old gets a lot of hate on social media. Unfortunately, it’s no different this time as well. However, unlike other times, where former POTUS’s swing gets mocked, this time he is getting trolled because of a bold statement he made in an interview.

It happened recently when the 45th President was on the PGA Memes YouTube Channel. The video was titled “On The Range with President Trump,” and they talked about a lot of things in the 20-minute video. While doing so Trump was also asked about the trophies he has won. As a response, he said, “Well my wife hates it when I come home with so many trophies and she says not another one, so usually I am forced to take some out and I put them around clubhouses but we have a lot of trophies.” 

Former President Trump already holds three titles. In March of this year, he won both the Club Championship and the Senior Club Championship at Trump Golf Palm Beach. Earlier this year, he also secured the Super Senior Championship, bringing his total to three trophies.

Despite the performance, Trump’s claim didn’t sit well with the fans as they started bashing him with a lot of negative remarks in the comments. Interestingly some actually loved the interview, meanwhile, most of them were throwing tantrums at the former POTUS.

Fans are not happy with Donald Trump’s statement

Ignoring the trophies part, one fan took Trump’s participation in the golf tournament into account and simply said “Participation Trophies.” Possibly alluding to the fact that former President Trump has played golf at least 142 times, according to Forbes. Given the high number of rounds, one fan believes his trophies are more a reflection of the matches he’s participated in rather than actual victories.

Another sarcastically added, “Of course he has so many trophies.” Since 2016, the 77-year-old has faced losses in nearly every major competition, including the Senate, the House, the Presidency, and others, with his only victories occurring at his own golf clubs. Despite this, Trump boldly claimed in the video about having numerous trophies, which led one fan to mock his claims. Expressing similar emotions one said “This is so gross. So many trophies.” 

One fan took Trump’s wife into account and made a bold claim saying “His wife hates it when he comes home, but it has nothing to do with the trophies he cheated to get, but I might have something to do with his cheating.” Donald Trump came under scrutiny in March this year and was labeled a “cheater” after securing back-to-back wins at his own club. There were claims that Trump kicked opponents’ balls into bunkers. Not only that, he even uses a turbo-charged golf cart that moves three times faster than his competitors, allowing him extra time to reposition the balls before others catch up, as revealed on the People Website.

While some joked about his trophies and participation one fan simply said “This is so pathetic, lol” Something similar happened in February this year after the former president’s video of being spotted throwing darts in the run-up to the elections went viral. And as a result, fans mocked him with comments like “No one cares. Less Trump on this page the better.”
