Six months ago, in an interview with Mia Baker for That’s the Tee, Lydia Ko and Danielle Kang discussed their decade-old friendship. Ko revealed that the first time they met was at the US Women’s Amateur Championship, when Lydia was very young. They have shared a special bond since. Kang revealed that she has Ko’s number saved in her phone as ‘Baby Sister’. Isn’t that heartwarming?

Kang also acknowledged how much Lydia means to her. Speaking to the New Zealand Golf magazine, Kang said, “She’s [Ko’s] like my little sister, and I think everybody knows that.” Kang’s love for Ko, who is younger than her, is extreme. She has been a friend and mentor for the Kiwi golfer on her LPGA journey.

In the Mia Baker interview, when she asked if they were instant buddies, Kang replied that their friendship evolved more after they became Facebook friends. The manner in which Danielle was speaking then and always did about Lydia, shows sisterly love for the other.

A few days ago, Danielle Kang again gave a shoutout to her LPGA sister Lydia Ko before the NWA Championship.
