Dustin Johnson is considered an elite golfer amongst his peers and fans alike. On his day, his talents can be intimidating and often end up in a tournament victory. However, things weren’t rosy in his early days on the tour. DJ has been suspended thrice by the PGA Tour, reportedly on the accounts of failed drug tests. After his third suspension in 2014, popular golfer, John Daly, sympathized with Johnson and offered his support – under one condition.

What did John Daly say to a suspended Dustin Johnson?
A 30-year-old Dustin Johnson was suspended from the PGA Tour in what was his third failed drug test. Until then, his addiction wasn’t revealed to the public.
But a third count provided enough reason for the Tour to prevent DJ from participating in any future events for a minimum of 6 months. The judgment was closely followed by the two-time Major winner announcing his intentions to take a break from professional golf, citing “personal challenges”.

Supporting his fellow Americans in need, John Daly told TMZ Sports that he wanted to help. The ‘Wild Thing’ has been marred in his fair share of controversies, which include multiple drinking problems.
“I texted Dustin a few days ago and told him how much I love him. He’s talented…. he’s the future of golf,” Daly said. However, he mentioned that he would be happy to help only if Johnson needed it and approached him for the same.
“My heart goes out to him. I would love to help but I know how things are and he would have to come to me,” he said. Daly has been quite frank about his struggles with the bottle. He remained sober for the sake of his multi-million contracts, but it didn’t work out.
He mentioned in the same piece that people need to understand addiction is not a weakness, it’s a disease. “It’s not something you ever fully get over … but it is something you can get control of.”
“I want Dustin to know that I’m here for him,” he concluded.

He also won the 2020 Masters Tournament in spectacular fashion, shooting a record score of 268, 20-under-par, surpassing Golf legend, Tiger Woods’ 18 under in 1997.
Presently, Johnson plays at the LIV Golf Series, where he recently won the Boston event with his team 4 Aces GC at the International Golf Club.
